UVS Production in Las Vegas !

Just got back from Vegas ! A total blast working with Sarah Sami & Brad. We cut guitars & vocals on 2 tracks. All recorded @ Odds On Studio. "Odds On" is an amazing new facility. It features a brand new SSL Duality console. A really nice high-tech console with phat mic pres. I believe it to be the 1st one in the USA. We did "Dead On The Dancefloor" with I co-wrote with the band a couple years ago, & a new song the band wrote with Desmond Child. Both came out slammin' and Sarah is such a terrific singer. Her voice is loaded with character and she's all flavor. The band travels here to NY next week to finish up a bunch of tracks @ Stevestudio.

Update on all things Stevestudio

Hey folks..sorry for the long time between posts... I kinda suck at this and maybe could do with the services of a competent intern. so let's see...... Finished producing the James Maddock record. This is an excellent album of terrific songwriting and musicianship. James is very popular here in NYC and I'm sure this record will generate loads of noise. Its a fully blown out production with an awesome list of musicians. Aaron Comess, Oli Rockberger, Clark Gayton, Leslie Mendelson, Eleanor Whitmore and others..... Also, just finished the much anticipated album by Joey DeGraw. Brother Gavin makes an appearance along with Joss Stone, Chris Barron, Leslie West and Joey's band, including Lefty Leroy Thompson & Jeremy Most......Producing 3 songs with Todd Alsup who is generating tons of noise on the street. Todd is an excellent songwriter with a terrific voice. Hopefully we'll do a whole record together..... Diane Birch's debut comes out May 19th on S-Curve records. Loads of fun working on this album/ As most of you know, Diane is a stunning talent.... Getting ready to mix Katy Pfaffl's debut CD too. This was a blast producing this record. Its absolutely HUUUGE !!! many many tracks. Strings all over, Vocals to match....Katy is very, very talented. Classically trained on the piano as well as violin & guitar. Look for her in the very near future...Big projects coming up in may too !

Hey everybody !

Just to keep ya up to date ... July has found me Producing Joey DeGraw, finishing up the last few tracks of his upcoming release. James Maddock, although Jame's doesn't require much "producing." James is putting out his this new record very shortly. I look for him to garner loads of buzz with this fine collection of songs. Lastly but not leastly, Shawn Pander is coming back to NYC to do some work on his next batch of songs. The response from the first 5 songs has been, uhh ... sick. All 3 of these guys are terrific writers/artists.

Diane Birch comes to Stevestudio

Hey everybody,

Very excited ! very excited indeed to have Diane Birch @ stevestudio. Along with Diane is vocal producer, miss Betty Wright. Betty & I worked together extensively during Joss' earlier days. Miss "B" is a member of the Billboard Soul Music Hall Of Fame. She was a singing star when she was a teen. Snoop Dogg also immortalizes her in a couple of his songs, ie: "tonight is the night, like Betty Wright. A mention of one of Miss B's earlier hits, "Tonight Is The Night."
Diane is in the process of making her debut record on S-Curve, and I have to say, this is one fine album that I believe will garner major attention. She has a terrific voice, she's a great singer and her songs are excellent and sometimes epic. Here's a pic of Miss B & me at my console. I'll be cutting a few new songs with Diane Miss B & Steve Greenberg this week, then if all goes well, I'll mix this thang into the mega-hit it deserves to become.

The first Shawn Pander sessions were an incredible success. we cut basics for 5 songs.
Musicians on the session were, Aaron Comess(Drums)Spin Doctors, Joan Osborne. Rich Hammond (Bass) Dar Williams, Jonatha Brooke. Raymond Angry (Keys) Joss Stone, Ayo.
And of course, Shawn on the acoustic guitar. This stuff is dope. Straight on up.Tracking was done @ Stevestudio NYC.
We also made a lot of progress on our Scottish accents as well as our Patois.

Super talented Shawn Pander comes into the studio for a few tracks this month. He's a great songwriter with a great voice. He's been featured on Dr Phil's TV show for his ode to war vets, "Tell Mama", and he's the subject of a documentary as well. These guys sold out 2 nights at the Nokia Theater on Times Square. Jam/Trance... The kids were going off ! Pretty cool band & scene. Anyway, started mixing a track, titled, "Quad D". It's like Gershwin, Coltrane & Coldplay on 1 track. Tons of elements. Definitely headphone material.
